The “first truly affordable, reversible, long-term male contraceptive”, being developed in India, looks like it may be available to men worldwide soon. The drug, known as RISUG works via a simple injection into the tube that carries the sperm. As sperm passes by, it is disabled. Another injection dissolves the gel and male fertillity returns. Just like that. The procedure lasts 10-15 minutes.
The trial is studying a new male contraceptive, RISUG (Reversible Inhibition of Sperm Under Guidance): a reversible, nonhormonal contraceptive that provides 10 or more years of protection after a 10-15 minute procedure. Researchers received approval this week to begin enrolling additional study volunteers, after a delay of nearly four years.

Malcolm Gladwell of Blink and Tipping Point fame is one of my favorite authors. In 2004, he wrote an article for The New Yorker discussing America’s unusual and nonsensical obsession with the SUV. It’s worth reading for the eductational value but also to admire some truly great writing.
Toyota’s top marketing executive in the United States, Bradsher writes, loves to tell the story of how at a focus group in Los Angeles “an elegant woman in the group said that she needed her full-sized Lexus LX 470 to drive up over the curb and onto lawns to park at large parties in Beverly Hills. ” One of Ford’s senior marketing executives was even blunter: “The only time those S.U.V.s are going to be off-road is when they miss the driveway at 3 a. m. “

Music and Site.
Some updates to the site today. If you recall, there was a category on the right called “Asides”. They are special mini-posts where I can post things like birthday reminders, etc. Well, I ended up not really ever using it. That’s why there was never any content. So now that is gone.
Below Flickr I have added my last.fm audio feed. Using a plugin for my player (foobar2k), it keeps track of what I am listening to. I set up the feed so it’s showing my latest played tracks and not most played. Also remember, I am not listening to music all the time, so the information might be old. I also added an RSS feed to the right of the last.fm title, so you can subscribe to it too.

The question is, if you had to marry one of the women on the show Sex in the City, who would it be? I don’t even watch the show nor do I know the characters’ names but I voted Kristin Davis immediately. A look at the results shows I was not alone! And in case you are wondering what she looks like:

She’s the one on the right. Horseyface is on the left.
As a marketing campaign and to introduce their new Tahoe, Chevrolet teamed up with NBC’s The Apprentice and are hosting this contest where you can make your own commercials. Click on the screenshot below to view my entry. I hope you guys like it. I am going to make an edit tonight at home. Click on the image to view the ad.
