More Walgreens customers sue over insults on their prescription printouts

Walgreens is probably one of the first places you think of (along with Sav-Ons) for drug prescription fufillments. Recently, I was sick and I chose Walgreens as my pharmacist. Why? Well, I didn’t have a regular pharmacist I go to, and Walgreens seem to know what they are doing. They are one of the few large pharmacies left and they remind you with their heavy advertising budget.

It turns out that there is an internal system that tracks drug prescriptions and patients across all locations. The idea is that you can be on vacation or something and go in for medicine and the machine will know what you previously bought, what potential dangerous interactions there might be, and maybe if you prefer to have your pills cut up or divded a special way. There can also put notes for each patient and the pharmacists at various Walgreens, across the country, have been using this to insult their patients. The best part of the article is a quote from one of the ladies suing Walgreens:

“It hurt my feelings so bad,” she said. “I’m always nice. I’ve been going there forever. I’ve had secret clearance [at work] and never even had parking tickets. I’m always dressed nicely and have my makeup on and my hair done. I was raised that your reputation goes with you everywhere.”
