Last night we wrapped up Kelly’s going away festivities with a night of $3 well drinks and bowling at Zodo’s Bowling & Beyond. She’s headed up to Humboldt to get her masters and teach credential.

Engineers at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan are building an odour recorder capable of doing just that. Simply point the gadget at a freshly baked cookie, for example, and it will analyse its odour and reproduce it for you using a host of non-toxic chemicals.

Thanks to P$, incredibly talented man of all things web and woman, my site now plays cleanly with IE. I don’t know why I keep putting up with you readers that refuse to download and use Firefox. I guess, *tear*, I just love you all.

I have been working hard on improving your experience here on my site. I have added a few new features that are worth checking out.

  • Starting today, at the bottom of each page (all the way in the footer), you will notice page navigation numbers. If you want to skip to page 5, you can do it with a click of the mouse. Of course you can still go page by page using the previous and next page links.
  • Each individual post will have related posts on the right sidebar. This is not a perfect algorithm by any means, but if there are similar keywords, it’ll link to them. So if you are reading a story about the police, for example, you can read other posts I’ve made about the subject too.
  • I’ve added Akismet checking to my Spam Karma 2 filtering. Now if SK2 is unsure about a piece of comment spam, it’ll send it to Akismet’s network for a check. Nobody likes spam … unless it comes wrapped in rice and seaweed!
  • I have a new About page. Check it out and tell me what you think.
  • Added a contact page on the top menu. Now you can fill out the form and it’ll go straight to my inbox to read.
  • Added a new photos page on the top menu. Click on it and you can view my latest pictures as well as all my albums (fed by Flickr).

There are some other things in store that I am working out. Just keep visiting and tell your friends!
