Remember when I wrote about the contest I won? Well I finally received the headphones. Here they are! I have to double check but the documentation was printed like in the late 80′s so that means this pair of headphones is 20 years old, and guess what? The foam is still in perfect condition!

I have the exact same pair I bought in Canada around 1989. Unfornately, my foam disintegrated. Any ideas how to replace them at low cost ? (as you say, I’m an engr.)

If you write Senneheiser, I bet they’ll send you replacement pads. I lost some for cheap earbuds and they sent met here pairs! The only problem is that these are really old headphones. They might have to send you pads made for other headphones, which will work as well (and sometimes even better).
So, what do you think of the 480II? They should be quite good – they were standard issue at the BBC for a good number of years…
